40 ml 1.5 oz Scotch Whisky
20 ml 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
3 Maraschino cherry

1 Prepare

Get the cherries ready for garnish

2 Ice

Fill both your martini glass and mixing glass with cubed ice (lots!)

3 Add ingredients

Pour all the ingredients into your mixing glass

4 Stir

Using your BarSpoon stir the ice elegantly for 17 seconds

5 Empty and Strain

Empty the ice in your martini glass back into the ice bucket. Place the julep strainer inside the mixing glass and pour the liquid smoothly from the mixing glass to your martini glass

6 Garnish and serve

Garnish with your cherries.

The Cocktail

First served in 1894 in the Astoria Hotel in New York, the Rob Roy is actually a twisted Manhattan replacing the original Bourbon for Scotch creating a Strong punchy cocktail.

Easily adapted, try different whiskies or different bitters for your own twist.
