40 ml 1.5 oz Dark Rum
20 ml 0.75 oz Light Rum
15 ml 0.5 oz Triple Sec
Triple Sec
Triple sec is a generic term for a sweet, clear orange-flavored liqueur. It contains 15–40% alcohol by volume level. It is made by macerating sun-dried orange skins in alcohol for at least 24 hours before going through a three-step distilling process. The most popular brand is COINTREAU
15 ml 0.5 oz Orgeat
20 ml 0.75 oz Lime Juice
1 Lime wedge
1 Mint sprig

1 Prepare

Pick your mint sprig and cut your lime ready for garnish and squeezing

2 Ice

Fill both your rocks glass and shaker with cubed ice

3 Add ingredients

Pour in all your ingredients into the shaker

4 Shake

Close the shaker lid and shake hard for 7 seconds

5 Strain

Take off the small top off the shaker and pour into your glass

6 Garnish and serve

Garnish with your mint sprig and lime wedge

The Cocktail

The most famous of the Tiki style cocktails, invented by Trader Vic in 1944. His friend sipped it and said in Tahitian “Mai Tai-Roa Ae” which translates as ‘Out of this World’ . The mix of rums, TripleSec, almondy Orgeat and tart lime juice create this paradise cocktail.

Try a combination of different rums to create that ‘punch’ exotic flavour base.
