The Black Russian Cocktail
Created at the start of the Cold War by Gustave Tops, a bartender at Hotel Metropole in Brussels serving Perle Mesta, the American ambassador to Luxembourg. This original mix of Russian vodka and dark coffee liquor is simple to make but packs a punch. Add milk/cream to make a White Russian!
Bartender Tip:
In the UK, it is popular to add a measure of Cola to the Black Russian.
